Struggling with Autel MaxiCharge

been running into charging issues with my setup and could use some advice. Initially, I couldn’t get the level 1 charger that came with my vehicle to work at all. I recently installed a level 2 charger (Autel MaxiCharge) thinking it would fix everything. It worked perfectly the first time, but now every time I try to charge, the light turns yellow briefly before shutting off entirely.

From what I’ve read, the Autel MaxiCharge might even be the same supplier for the VinFast level 2 chargers, which makes this even more puzzling.

Has anyone else had similar problems, or does anyone know what might be causing this?

Been dealing with some seriously annoying charging issues as well. My car will start charging, then randomly just stop at like 20-30% for no clear reason. Doesn’t matter if I’m on a L1 or L2 charger, or even the time of day or night. I usually try to charge during off-peak hours, but that hasn’t made any difference either.

I use the provided "portable charger", but have also been having unexpected "yellow light" issues. A VinFast tech told me try running it at 20A, which is a LITTLE slower than I'm happy with, but it hasn't yet tripped at 20.

@Localboy850, do you get a yellow light too?

There's a rumour, not really confirmed, that this latest firmware version might be a bit more... trigger-happy?... when charging. You and me are not the only people seeing the dreaded yellow light more often recently. I know we are a fairly small sample-size, but when do a few too many coincidences become a statistic, do you think? Betcha a it quietly goes away after the next 1 or 2 software updates.

Have you tried checking the wiring connections or resetting the Autel MaxiCharge to see if that resolves the issue? Could there be a fault with the charger itself?

I charge both at home and at public charging stations. I'd suggest trying a public station if you have trouble at home, and vice versa.

It's probably good to share which model and firmware is installed, as we're on a VF 9 and nobody seems to be posting about their VF 9 experience anywhere, beyond me at least...

I have a very similar issue with my Chargepoint charger. The other evening when initially plugged in the yellow light was on which means it was authenticating. Then the light went off and eventually I got a message that I needed to unplug then plug in. Had a little difficult unplugging it but eventually got it out. Plugged in and did not work. Unplugged again, put back in charger holster then plugged back in car. It then charged immediately. Only thing I did not like is that the program function of chargepoint does not seem to work. Also, in what I just described it was raining while doing all this so I got wet. Should I wait to plug in when I get home from work to see if it authenticated? How long?
