With Ford, GM, Rivian, and a bunch of other EV manufacturers moving towards adopting Tesla’s NACS charging standard, I’m wondering if VinFast should do the same. It feels like this shift could make charging more convenient across the board, especially if it includes access to Tesla’s Supercharger network.

it would also be great if they could offer adapters for current models, similar to what some other brands are planning, if VinFast were to go this route. It could bridge the gap for existing owners while preparing future vehicles for the broader transition. Should VinFast jump on board with NACS? And if so, what would you expect in terms of adapter support or rollout timelines?

It makes sense for VinFast to adopt NACS, especially with the growing network of Tesla Superchargers. Offering adapters for current models would be a smart move to ensure a smooth transition for existing owners.

In Europe (and UK), the EU took the opposite approach of forcing Tesla to use the CCS2 standard instead. That actually makes a lot more sense, and it's GREAT to be able to be able to drive any make/model of EV up to a tesla charger, plug in, wave a credit card, and walk away. Their "surge charging" is sometimes a bit pricey, but the convenience of their widespread charging network can't be argued with - most shopping malls have a few tesla chargers.

... however I can't see this happening in the US, because "freedom" and "not invented here" syndrome... Therefore it's not going to happen in the rest of NA either. Tesla/NACS is winning this version of the VHS/Betamax or BluRay/HD-DVD format wars, and it's almost certainly the worse of the 2 standards  - look up "Tesla wet rag trick" if you want to have nightmares 😱

TL/DR: Tesla supercharger network great! Tesla NACS connector :poop: awful. EU regulation actually did the right thing over there

Standardizing on NACS would be great for charging access, but I worry about how quickly VinFast could adapt. Would current owners get adapters, or be left behind?
