... and still loving it. :D

Has it been 100% perfect? No, no new car would be (see Bathtub Curve), but what's important is VF have fixed most software issues within one or two software versions, and have honoured their warranty on any actual physical faults (all quite minor)

Love the Italian Pininfarina curves and many BMW parts. Love the colour (my first green car is a green car! My friends call it "british motor racing green", except it sparkles in bright sunlight), love the big screen (youtube when I'm waiting for someone!), and the glorious HUD (like a jet fighter, makes instrument clusters feel obsolete). ADAS is my copilot (and more competent than tesla autopilot, by most accounts, though not the $uper ex$pen$ive FSD). AWD grips the road, and it effortlessly and quietly goes like a bat out of hell when I floor it (leaves roaring ICE boy-racers in the dust if they challenge me at the lights). Takes 5-7 secs and costs a few dollars to plug it in, in my garage, once a week or so, (MUCH more convenient than all that undignified standing around in the weather at smelly dino-juice stations, and paying a small fortune for it). Heated seats and wheel, and the near-instant heat and demist, are all appreciated in Canadian winters. Alexa is kinda fun too.

Yup, love it. 🥰

I’m with you on the home charging convenience. it feels like such a game-changer compared to fueling up at gas stations. The ADAS sounds like a real asset too. I’m curious, how’s the Alexa integration working out for daily driving? Also, it’s reassuring to hear VinFast has been prompt with software updates and honoring warranties. How are you finding the software updates?

ADAS is marvelous, yup. Not like having a chauffeur, but definitely like having another set of "eyes on the road", allowing me to focus on road safety rather than spending too much cognitive load on basic lane-keeping and distance-keeping and stuff. I might miss a speed-limit sign, ADAS might miss a speed-limit sign, but the chances of us BOTH missing it are much much lower overall. Sometimes I brake first, sometimes ADAS does, but between us, it feels like we are safer co-drivers than me alone.

Driving is less tiring too, more fun. Feels like I'm mostly supervising ADAS, taking over at complicated junctions, keeping an eye on other vehicles / hazards, suggesting best moments to change lane or which fork to pick, etc.

Mostly she's "fun". I CAN use her for useful car stuff like "Alexa, I'm cold" or "Alexa, open the windows", or especially "Alexa, navigate to [some address / shop]"... but mostly we seem to use her to help look up info for conversations with my passengers - "Alexa, who is the female singer from the band Walk Off The Earth?" or for entertainment "Alexa, play Monty Python's Galaxy Song". I understand some other people connect Alexa to their homes and ask her to "Alexa, open my garage door", or add things to their shopping list, but mine is completely within the VF8.

Also, it’s reassuring to hear VinFast has been prompt with software updates and honoring warranties. How are you finding the software updates?
Usually pretty good. Almost all of the early bugs have been fixed, and some extra features added (IHeartRadio, better storing of settings in profiles, improvements in the navigation, etc).

One complaint - they removed "sport mode" from the eco in a software update! I understand there may have been enough complaints that they will add it back again soon, but if you haven't complained already, I strongly suggest you do so! 😱
