I’ve been experiencing some frustrating issues with my VinFast VF8 and Level 2 universal chargers lately. Last week, everything was working perfectly fine, but now, the car can barely draw 5-6 amps on a 64-amp charger. It’s taking forever to charge, current battery is at 28%, and to reach 90%, the estimate shows 79 hours!

I’ve had no problems when charging at Tesla Superchargers with the CCS Magic Dock; it works like a charm there.

Does anyone know if there’s a way to reset the car’s charging system or clear any memory related to old plug connections? Could this be a calibration or software glitch? I’d appreciate any ideas getting my VF8 to charge normally again with Level 2 chargers.

Hey, your VF8 is struggling with Level 2 charging. If you’re using the VinFast home charger, check the adjustment wheel inside, it should match your outlet’s capacity (15A, 30A, etc.). A wrong setting might limit the current draw.

If it’s not the charger, try resetting the car’s charging system. Disconnecting the 12V battery for a few minutes or using the settings menu may help. Ensure your car’s software is up to date, as updates often fix charging bugs.

You can also inspect the Level 2 charger and cable for damage or loose connections. Since Supercharging works fine, the issue seems specific to Level 2. If the problem persists, contact VinFast support for further assistance.
